Congrats to Mills University Workers on Contract

Congrats to members of SEIU Local 1021 that have ratified contracts covering both adjuncts and non-faculty staff at “Mills College at Northeastern University” in Oakland.

• The resulting agreement provided for immediate raises of at least 5% for almost everyone. The lowest paid people are getting 15% raises. The starting minimum wage for future full-time employees is being raised from $15 to $23.15.

• For the adjuncts, we are raising the minimum per credit rate immediately by 12.5%, with increases of 3% in years 2 and 3. We increased the pay for non-teaching special comp, increased the course cancellation payments to 25% to 75% depending on when the class is cancelled.
